Meet 'Anna,' a serious Gamay with notes of toasted sesame seeds and beautiful bright raspberry and bramble fruits.

These grapes began their journey amongst the cascading vineyards of the Yarra Valley. From there, they spent two weeks fermenting on skins (25% whole bunch), before ageing in large format oak over the winter and spring, arriving here to make your acquaintance today.

  • WINEMAKING PROCESS

Sourced from De Bortoli vineyards located in the Dixon's Creek, in the Upper Yarra Valley, this wine is made from 100% Gamay with about 20-25% whole bunch. Picked in February 2025, the grapes spent two weeks fermenting on skins in concrete fermenter to begin their winemaking journey. The wine was then pressed to large format neutral French oak and aged over winter and spring. Bottled in January, this wine offers the beautiful bright red fruits of an Australian Gamay with the complex spices and savoury notes of a Beaujolois wine.

  • THE LABEL STORY

Like each of our labels, the Gamay design is inspired by a visionary historical woman. English botanist and photographer Anna Atkins is the inspiration behind the design of this label. Considered to be the first woman to create a photograph, she was the first person to publish a book containing photographic images. If you look closely, you'll notice her holding photographic lenses over a collection of botany. We picked 'Anna' based on features she shares with Crystal and Leila's mother Liz, a scientist with a fascination for photography.

  • REVIEWS

25% whole bunch, aged in large format, neutral oak. Yarra Valley gamay – ripe, sweet fruited, approachable and oh-so smooth. All the ingredients are here for some immediate drinking pleasure led by raspberry, cherry and plum with violet florals, a splash of dried herbs and a lively spiciness, including some pepperiness, especially on the finish. Plenty here to appreciate and enjoy.”
