Meet 'Jeanne.' She has a beautiful aromatic bouquet with notes of spices like dried ginger, and white fruits; peach and nectarine, becoming more floral as it sits in the glass. On the palate, this wine is very fresh and focused, offering lots of texture with vibrant acidity.

These Savagnin grapes began their journey amongst the honey hued trees of the high country. From there, they were cold soaked on skins, fermented, then aged in French barriques over the winter and spring, arriving here to make your acquaintance today.

  • WINEMAKING PROCESS

Grown by the Michelini family in the heart of the King Valley, our Savagnin grapes were picked in February of 2024. The grapes were cold soaked on skins for half a day before pressing, then fermented in old French barriques over winter and spring. The wine saw partial malolactic fermentation. Bottled n October, this wine offers subtle wildflower and honeysuckle notes on the nose with some spiced apples & a hint of oxidative notes. The palate is very generous and textural with warm embracing peach and pear. The perfect fresh Spring or Summer wine, pairs perfectly with food.

  • THE LABEL STORY

Like each of our labels, the Savagnin design is inspired by a visionary historical woman. French botanist and voyager, Jeanne Baret is the woman this particular label. A curious explorer, Jeanne unknowingly became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe moved by her love of botany. Dressed as a man in order to make the journey possible, she is known for discovering the bouganvilliea plant. We picked 'Jeanne' as the feature for this label to represent Juliette, the Foreign Friend who made the journey across the world from France to start a new life in Australia.

  • REVIEWS

"This has the succulence, richness and depth of the variety with a cool, fresh finish and a general sense of slipperiness and ripeness. Tonic water, green pear, apple, ginger, cumin, some ginger beer and cider. Some pleasing, very varietal saltiness in the mix. An elegant, medium to fuller weight wine of immense character and charisma."
