WINEMAKING PROCESS
Grown by the Michelini family in the heart of the King Valley at 350m altitude, our Savagnin grapes were picked in March of 2025. The grapes were cold soaked on skins for half a day before pressing, then fermented in old French barriques over winter and spring. The wine saw partial malolactic fermentation (30%). Bottled in December, this wine offers subtle wildflower and honeysuckle notes on the nose with some spiced apples & a hint of oxidative notes. The palate is very generous and textural with warm embracing peach and pear. The perfect fresh Spring or Summer wine, pairs perfectly with food.

THE LABEL STORY
Like each of our labels, the Savagnin design is inspired by a visionary historical woman. French botanist and voyager, Jeanne Baret is the woman this particular label. A curious explorer, Jeanne unknowingly became the first woman to circumnavigate the globe moved by her love of botany. Dressed as a man in order to make the journey possible, she is known for discovering the bouganvilliea plant. We picked 'Jeanne' as the feature for this label to represent Juliette, the Foreign Friend who made the journey across the world from France to start a new life in Australia.

REVIEWS
“Crushed, wild ferment in small format, neutral oak, aged 10 months on lees. Another top release of a wine that excites the palate, combining complexity, a lingering savouriness and a juicy freshness. It makes for a most charming and un-put-down-able wine. Ripe lemon citrus, stone fruits, red apple, spring blossom and honeysuckle aromas. Concentrated on the palate, with an additional layer of nutty mealiness and preserved lemon that brings with it an impressive depth of flavour as well as length. Gently creamy across the tongue, with a lemony tang to close. An exciting find.”
